The FEHC has promulgated Final Sexual Harassment Training and Education Regulations.  The Commission’s sexual harassment training and education regulations submitted to the Office of Administrative Law have been approved.  The regulations will, after notice to the Secretary of State and publication, become effective on August 17, 2007.  APPROVED REGULATIONS (pdf)

On July 18, 2007, the Office of Administrative Law approved the Commission’s sexual harassment training and education regulations.  The text of the regulations is, with one minor grammatical change to Section 7288.0, subdivision (a)(9)(A)(2), identical to the version adopted by the Commission on April 23, 2007. The only change was to the designation of the subparts of subdivision (a)(9)(A)(2), by “a.” instead of “a)”, etc

The EEOC just issued new policy guidance on race and color discrimination.

Domestic Violence in the workplace is a becoming a huge issue for employers.  The Family Violence Prevention Fund has a great website devoted to helping employers handle this important issue.

AB 1825 requires all employers with over 50 employees to provide all supervisors with 2 hours of sexual harassment training once every two years beginning January 1, 2005.   

Dr. Laura Beth Nielsen wrote a fascinating new book entitled: "License to Harass" discussing the effects of legal offensive speech.
